CarpeDiem is a 2D Side-scrolling Tower Defense Survival Horror Game that immerses players in the vital mission of protecting a sacred church against relentless hordes of monstrous enemies. In this game, where darkness is your ultimate adversary, strategic defense planning, adept use of a diverse arsenal, and readiness for the onslaught are your keys to survival. It's more than a game; it's a battle for survival—defend the church or face defeat.
This prototype is your early window into the unique gameplay mechanics, aesthetic, and immense potential of CarpeDiem. Consider it a vibrant canvas that will evolve with more detail, enhancements, and expansions, shaped by player feedback and its journey towards becoming a fully-realized game.
Current Features
- Dynamic Day-Night Cycle: Strategize and fortify your defenses by day, and brace yourself to repel the night-time invasions of enemies.
- Diverse Weaponry: Equip yourself with a sledgehammer, baseball bat, dagger, and gun—each weapon offering a distinct advantage in combat.
- Strategic Gameplay: Choose your weapons with care and manage your ammunition wisely to ensure your survival through the night.
- Progressive Difficulty: The challenge intensifies with each night you survive, demanding increasing skill and strategic finesse.
- Offerings to the Shrine: A pivotal gameplay element—collect and offer the body parts of fallen birdmen at the shrine to receive unique rewards that enhance your defensive capabilities, based on the types of offerings made.
How To Play
Take a stand in defending the church with these controls:
- Move: Left & Right Arrows or A & D
- Jump: Up Arrow or W
- Run: Shift Key
- Use Weapon: Space Bar
- Select Weapon: < & >
- Offer to Shrine: Push limbs from your fallen enemies
Armed with your arsenal, your mission is to keep the church safe from monstrous invaders. Select your weapon as per the need of the hour, and remember to gather and offer birdmen body parts at the shrine during the day to bolster your defenses. Your survival hinges on your strategic prowess and valor.
